About Medgar Evers Library
The Medgar Evers Library, which was named for the Civil Rights activist, Medgar Evers, is located in Northwest Jackson. The library celebrates the Medgar Evers Homecoming each June, and a historic statue of Evers is located on library grounds. The library also hosts the Annual Juneteenth Celebration.
We have Summer Reading Programs, The Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Essay Contest, The Annual Health Fair, Storytime Wednesdays and Fantastic Friday Storytimes at 10:00 AM, Teen Programs and Showtime Movie Matinees every Saturday at 11 AM.
