About Bolden Moore Library

Welcome to the R.G. Bolden/Anna Bell-Moore Library, which is conveniently located in the Westside Community on Wiggins Road. The library hosts the Westside Community Senior Organization in the meeting room from Monday through Friday from 11:00 AM-3:30 PM, and offers programming for children and teens before 11:00 AM and after 3:30 PM. For more information, contact the Branch Manager at 601-922-6076.

Come to the Bolden Moore Library on June 1st at 10:30 AM for a movie! In this movie, a young lady is constantly switching between two worlds -- the poor, mostly black neighborhood where she lives and the wealthy, mostly white prep school that she attends. The uneasy balance between these worlds is soon shattered when she witnesses the fatal shooting of her childhood best friend at the hands of a police officer. Facing pressure from all sides of the community, the young lady must find her voice and decide to stand up for what's right.

Come to the Bolden Moore Library on June 8th at 10:30 AM for a movie! In this movie, thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, the young hero returns home to live with his aunt. Under the watchful eye of his mentor, the young hero starts to embrace his newfound identity as a superhero. He also tries to return to his normal daily routine -- distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just a friendly neighborhood superhero. The young hero must soon put his powers to the test when an evil adversary emerges to threaten everything that he holds dear.

On Monday, June 10th, the Bolden Moore Library will have a very special program with Rusty Bryant of Mississippi Brilla. Mr. Bryant, the executive director, will appear at the Bolden Moore Library to discuss the game of soccer, the values it instills in human beings, his career with the Mississippi Brilla club and other related topics. The program will take place from 4:30-5:30 and all teens are invited. Popcorn and refreshments will be served.

Come to the Bolden Moore Library on June 15th at 10:30 AM for a movie! In this movie, a legendary superhero is bound and determined to remedy that situation by becoming a star instead of a sidekick. With a few madcap ideas and a song in their hearts, his superhero group head to Hollywood to fulfill their dreams. Things soon go awry, however, when a supervillain plans to take over the planet -- putting the very fate of the young heroes on the line.

Come to the Bolden Moore Library on June 22nd at 10:30 AM for a movie! In this movie, on the run in the year of 1987, our automobile hero finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. The main character, on the cusp of turning 18 and trying to find her place in the world, discovers our automobile hero, battle-scarred and broken.

June 26, 2019 | Events for All Ages

On June 26th, at 4:30 PM, Dr. Lisa Beckley-Roberts of JSU will present a very interesting and informative program regarding African American music appreciation and awareness. This program cover the origins of African American music and the different forms and manifestations it has taken over the years. Key African American musicians, musical art forms, instruments and other related topics will be discussed, identified and analyzed. The program will last and hour, popcorn and refreshments will be served and all are invited.

June 27, 2019 | Summer Reading Program Event

A film about characters guarding the galaxy will be screened as cake, cookies, ice cream and other refreshments are served. Guardians of the Galaxy posters and flyers will be displayed. Costumes are encouraged.

June 29, 2019 | Movie Events

Come to the Bolden Moore Library on June 29th at 10:30 AM for a movie! In this movie, the four elemental nations lived in harmony until one of the Nations declared war. A century later, there is still no end in sight to the destruction, then, one of heroes discovers that he has the power to control the four elements. He joins forces with three other elemental heroes to restore balance and harmony to their world.
