About Bolden Moore Library

Welcome to the R.G. Bolden/Anna Bell-Moore Library, which is conveniently located in the Westside Community on Wiggins Road. The library hosts the Westside Community Senior Organization in the meeting room from Monday through Friday from 11:00 AM-3:30 PM, and offers programming for children and teens before 11:00 AM and after 3:30 PM. Come to the Bolden-Moore Library for Chess Club! Meet every Tuesday and Thursday at 4:30 PM. Learn from and challenge each other in this amazing game of strategy!

May 14, 2019 - May 28, 2019 | Events for Tweens or Teens

Starting Tuesday, May 7th, and occurring every Tuesday evening afterwards, the Bolden Moore Library will have a special program called, "Anime Extravaganza." The program will feature a popular anime title, either a movie or series, which will be screened for teens. This program will generate better cultural awareness of Japan and Japanese society, specifically how it relates to the phenomenon known as anime. Cultural snacks and refreshments will be served, and our meeting room will be decorated with anime wall scrolls, pictures and other similar materials for the occasion. All teens are invited.

May 22, 2019 | Events for All Ages

This program is a credit workshop offered by Mrs. Charlotte Banks-Flowers, Asst VP Community Lending Specialist for Trustmark National Bank. Topics discussed and analyzed will include: what is a credit score, five components of a credit score and how to maintain a good credit score. American Medical Response (AMR) will send a representative to discuss and demonstrate five steps in surviving a medical emergency. The steps include helping prevent emergencies, post vital information, calling for help properly, learning life-saving skills, and supporting your local EMS. A Q&A session will follow the program.

On Thursday, May 30th from 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM, the Bolden Moore Library will host a very special Mental Health Awareness Program presented by Mrs. Shona Dykstra of Hinds Behavioral Health Services. A few topics discussed, dissected and analyzed are featured below. This program is for adults.
- The importance of mental health in our overall well-being.
- Activities to help keep your brain healthy.
- Mental health services provided in your community, including free support groups.
