About Bolden Moore Library

Welcome to the R.G. Bolden/Anna Bell-Moore Library, which is conveniently located in the Westside Community on Wiggins Road. The library hosts the Westside Community Senior Organization in the meeting room from Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM-2:00 PM, and offers programming for children and teens before 11:00 AM and after 3:30 PM. Every Tuesday evening (excluding Christmas Eve), the Bolden Moore Library will have a special program called, "Anime Extravaganza." The program will feature a popular anime title, either a movie or series, which will be screened for teens. This program will generate better cultural awareness of Japan and Japanese society, specifically how it relates to the phenomenon known as anime. Cultural snacks and refreshments will be served, and our meeting room will be decorated with anime wall scrolls, pictures and other similar materials for the occasion. All teens are invited.

[Registration at the library in advance is required. Space is limited. Clicking "Going" in the Facebook event does not count as registration.]

Coding for school-aged children will be held at the Bolden Moore Library starting November 6, 2019 and will be ongoing for six weeks. This program is for children in grades 2 through 6 and will begin at 4:30 PM.

Nov 18, 2019 - Dec 31, 2019 | Events for Preschool Children

Story time is offered Mondays at 10:00 AM at the Bolden Moore Library. All children are welcome.

Story time with the OrganWise Guys is on first Mondays. The OrganWise Guys will teach kids about total wellness and the importance of taking care of ourselves from the inside out.

Nov 20, 2019 - Nov 27, 2019 | Events for School Aged Children

From November 20th-November 27th during library hours, the Bolden Moore Library will have a Thanksgiving Coloring Contest in the children's area of the library. A number of Thanksgiving-themed coloring sheets will be displayed on a table and children will be able to color one sheet of their choosing.

Once children are finished coloring, they'll turn in their sheet with their name and contact number. The coloring sheets will then be judged by library staff and a winner will be determined on December 2nd. The grand prize will be a very thoughtful gift.

November 21, 2019 | Events for Adults

On Thursday, November 21st at 4:30 PM, the Bolden Moore Library will have Dr. Janice Brockley of Jackson State University present a program on African American Women in Southern Culture. The program is for the benefit of all who are interested in the subject. The program will be about the historical and cultural impact of African American women in the American South, and many avenues and perspectives pertaining to the subject will be explored. November 23, 2019 | Movie Events

Come to the Bolden Moore Library on Saturday, November 23 at 10:30 AM for a movie!

Synopsis: A boy genius gives up hope of retrieving his latest invention, which was stolen by another character, and then a young time traveler arrives on the scene to whisk the boy genius away in his time machine. The boy spends a day in the future with the time traveler's eccentric family and uncover an amazing secret at the same time.

November 25, 2019 | Events for School Aged Children

On Monday, November 25th at 4:30 PM, the Bolden Moore Library will present a game of Thanksgiving Bingo. All participants will be issued a bingo card and winners will receive a special treat. November 30, 2019 | Movie Events

Come to the Bolden Moore Library on Saturday, November 30 at 10:30 AM for a movie!

Synopsis: A little girl lives with a rare, incurable disorder that leaves her unable to digest food. Despite the dire diagnosis, her devoted mom relentlessly searches for a way to save her beloved daughter. Everything changes in an instant when the little girl tells an amazing story of a visit to heaven after surviving a headlong tumble into a tree. Her family and doctors become even more baffled when the young girl begins to show signs of recovering from her fatal condition.
