June 2019 Resource of the Month: Hour of Code

June 03, 2019 | General News

The 'Hour of Code (TM)' is a nationwide initiative by Computer Science Education Week [csedweek.org] and Code.org [code.org] to introduce millions to one hour of computer science and computer programming.

"The Hour of Code is designed to demystify code and show that computer science is not rocket science - anybody can learn the basics," said Hadi Partovi, founder and CEO of Code.org. "Over 100 million students worldwide have tried an Hour of Code. The demand for relevant 21st-century computer science education crosses all borders and knows no boundaries."

The program is open to all ages, and anyone can host. The Hour of Code takes place each year during Computer Science Education Week, but you can host an Hour of Code all year-round.
