Friends of the Raymond Library is a tax exempt organize whose purpose is to support the functions of the Raymond Public Library as well as the Hinds/Jackson Library System. The organization works to help provide equipment for the Raymond facility. Some of the items purchased by Friends of the Raymond Library are: numerous revolving carousels for displaying   audio books and movies, computers for children, and book donations for required reading by local schools.   Friends of the Raymond Library also helps to provide summer programs for children.

The organization hosts two large events yearly and occasionally uses an event to serve as a fundraiser. The money is used not only to purchase extra items for the library but also to provide quality programs for the Raymond community at large.   Riggs Manor Retirement Home often hosts many of the programs making it possible for the elderly residents to attend.
