About Medgar Evers Library

The Medgar Evers Library, which was named for the Civil Rights activist, Medgar Evers, is located in Northwest Jackson. The library celebrates the Medgar Evers Homecoming each June, and a historic statue of Evers is located on library grounds.
We have Summer Reading Programs, The Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Essay Contest, The Annual Health Fair, Storytime Wednesdays at 10:00 AM, Teen Programs and Showtime Movie Matinees every Saturday at 11 AM. Contact Anne Sanders for more information at (601) 982-2867.

Bingo is one of the many activities we offer at the Medgar Evers library to make our adult and senior programs entertaining and interesting for all participants. Come join us! Small prizes will be awarded.

April 28, 2017 | Events for School Aged Children

Join the Medgar Evers Library for our final storytime in April. We will read, Giraffes Can't Dance, by Giles Andrede. After the story, we will make dancing Giraffes for a fun craft! Preschoolers welcome.

April 29, 2017 | Movie Events

Join us for this animated film of a cowboy that is profoundly threatened and jealous when a new spaceman figure supplants him as top toy in a boy's room.
