About Eudora Welty Library

Eudora Welty Library is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Jackson at 300 North State Street. The 45,000 square foot building also houses the Information Resource Center with 40 public access computers, as well as the Mississippi Writer's Exhibit. The ILL department is housed at the reference desk and can be reached at reference@jhlibrary.org. The Administrative Offices for the library system are no longer at Welty Library. They are located at 1675 Lakeland Drive in the Regions Bank Building rear entrance.

Our children's area features a large collection of picture books and juvenile fiction and non-fiction. The Autism Resource Center is located on the first floor.

There's a cool place where you can buy gently-used books for 50 cents each, and even kids' books cost one dollar for five! Guess where? The Book Sale at the Eudora Welty Library! Some books are like new. Open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m.-6 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. (Closed for lunch from 1-2 p.m.) For more information, call 601-968-5806.

Autism Resource Center

Come Join Miss Ruth in the ARC for a moon-themed story time, a solar system fruit tray, and fun exploring the universe with the alphabet and phonics. Participants will also count the planets using math skills.
