Get to Work Computer Lab

Get to Work Computer Lab

Get to Work Computer Lab for job seekers provides computer training to help those applying for jobs online. The lab is only for those who want to apply for jobs and can be used for as long as two hours.

Where: Eudora Welty Library, 300 N. State St., Jackson.

When: 10 a.m. to noon and 3-5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The Get to Work Computer Lab is a training effort that teaches job seekers to use computers and allows them to work on the devices for two hours - twice as long as typically allowed in the Jackson/Hinds Library System.

The computer training program is only available at the Eudora Welty branch for now.

The computer and job training programs are not only to help residents find jobs, but will help them move into the new era of job seeking. More and more employers are directing residents to online applications. As part of the training, human resources staff from the library also will offer sessions on writing resumes and interviewing skills.

The computer lab doesn't just help those who don't know how to use computers, it provides a valuable resource to those who don't have access to computers.
