POSITION: Branch Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited library school; two to three years of library experience with supervisory responsibility. Public library experience is preferred.

DUTIES:
Supervise all branch operations including, but not limited to, planning and implementing branch program; preparing work schedules for 1 full-time employee and 6 part-time employees. Must be able to work well with library patrons, seeking to maintain excellent public relations between the branch and the local community. This position answers to the Assistant Director for Public Service.

HOURS:
40 hours per week, scheduled within the library hours of operation (10:00 am – 7:00 pm, Monday – Thursday; 10:00 am – 6:00 pm Friday and 10:00 am – 5:00 pm Saturday).  Also scheduled three to four times per year at the Eudora Welty Library (1:00 pm – 5:00 pm Sunday).

COMPENSATION:
$27,725 minimum annual salary; excellent benefits package including health, dental, vision, disability and life insurance; State of Mississippi retirement plan
